You have heard it said from television ads and doctors that, “You mustconsume one to two glasses of milk daily, to get the calcium you need for strong bones and teeth!” The question that still needs to be answered by the medical and nutrition community is, “If milk is so good for you and does a body good, then, how come people who consume milk or any source of dairy daily, are still breaking bones, and getting degenerative disease like osteoporosis? There are a few things you need to know about dairy that is not being talked about by the medical
and nutritional community that is leading to disease.
First, what is pasteurization? Believe it or not, raw milk contains beneficial elements. It contains many enzymes to help break it down, like protease, to digest protein; and lactate, to digest fat. Raw milk also contains lactoferrin, which is known to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and immune regulatory effects. However, all these properties are denatured during the pasteurization process.
Raw milk becomes homogenized before it goes through the pasteurization process. During homogenization, fat particles in the raw milk are broken into smaller pieces, combines with oxygen, and changes into a hydrogenated fat (oxidized fat). Then the milk is pasteurized at high temperatures ranging between 248-266 degrees for about 2 seconds. Once this process is over, all the beneficial properties of raw milk becomes entirely lost. The molecular structure of the proteins change in this process, making the milk super-concentrated, therefore, making it nearly impossible to digest in the intestinal tract.
The enzyme lactate that you have in the body as an infant, is there to break down the lactose found in breast milk. Once you grow out of infancy, you slowly lose the enzyme lactate to break down lactose. There is a reason for this natural process of losing lactate after infancy, so it does not make sense for you to continue to drink milk after infancy, especially from any mammal like cows. All the nutrients you need from milk comes from breast milk and is no longer needed after the breast feeding process.
Second, dairy products contain acidic hormones, pesticide residues, microforms, mycotoxins (fungal poisons), antibiotics, and saturated acidic fats. All dairy products produce large amounts of lactic acid in the body as well. Since you do not have the ability to breakdown dairy, due to the lack of the endogenous enzyme lactate, these poisons either stay in the intestinal tract and begin to ferment, or enter the bloodstream causing the blood to become too acidic. These detrimental properties in dairy products also cause your body to produce large amounts of mucus to absorb all the metabolic poisons and to protect your tissues and organs from acidic and oxidative stress.The large amounts of metabolic acids produced by dairy products, forces the liver to pull calcium out of your bones, to neutralize these acidic wastes, so that they can be eliminated out of the body. Over time, your body will become mineral deficient, especially in calcium, therefore, possibly leading to lower bone density and degenerative bone diseases like osteoporosis in your later years.
For example, it takes twelve pounds of milk to make one pound of ice cream, therefore, it would take 240 cups or fifteen gallons of ionized alkaline water to neutralize one cup of ice cream! This is how acidic milk, cheese, ice cream, and other sources of dairy are, moreover, this leads to allergies, intestinal disorders, skin problems, degenerative diseases (like osteoporosis mentioned above), auto immune diseases, cancers (colon, breast), immune suppression, weight gain, demineralized bones (mentioned above), diabetes, asthma, bacterial infections, etc. Dairy causes many subclinical symptoms that eventually create disease in your body because it upsets your internal biochemical terrain, i.e. your pH levels.
These super-concentrated toxins found in dairy products are extremely detrimental to infants, especially, when feeding them milk or formula, as a substitute for breast milk. This can cause congestion, diarrhea, infections and other side effects when an infant consumes these toxins. The molecular structure of these dairy proteins are so large that it makes it nearly impossible for an infant to break it down to a useable form for the body to utilize. It may even cause the early on-set of allergies as well in the infant. Remember, milk and formula do not containthe enzymes needed to break down its nutritional contents; breast milk does contain the enzymes to help the infant digest it and utilize the nutrients in the body. Be extra cautious giving infants milk or formula!
You many be asking: “What can I do to make sure I am getting enough calcium in my life daily?” Some alternatives you may want to try are soy, almond, hemp, or coconut milk. These milk alternatives do not contain all the harmful toxins that dairy does, and you have the ability to break them down in the intestinal tract. They are not mucus forming as well. Eating plenty of dark leafy green vegetables will ensure you are getting enough calcium as well. Also, nuts, seeds, and legumes are good sources of calcium.
